I havent forgotten....

I feel a little guilty that I haven't posted in a few days now, but with my family arriving from Spain on the 11th, and trying to be a good host, and show them what San Diego, and my life here is all about, I just haven't been able to sit down and upload the daily picture... Which doesn't mean I haven't taken a picture a day, because I still got to do that lol!!!
I will be posting all the pictures within today and tomorrow hopefully for the last 8 days, so bare with me as I catch up... Thanks and have a great night!

It must be so hard being a cat this days... This is my little princess, Nora. She is a 3 year old Maine Coon/American Long Hair kitty, and she loves acting as if she was a dog for some reason...

Day 10

So adorable!! He amazes me in ways that are indiscrabable and I sometimes ask myself how can he act so mature for only 14 months of age?!? The way he carries himself and the expressions he makes are sometimes too much for such a tiny little body!!
I love him with all my heart!

Day 9

I love reading! Reading is one of my passions in life... I get into my book, I get to know the people and what they have or are going thru at the time, and most important, I get to see how their life ends when the book ends...
I started reading for pleasure at the age of 15, thanks to one of my best friends, who introduced me to one of the best books I have read to date... "Memoirs of a Geisha".
Ever since, I started getting book after book and never stopped! I may have taken brakes here and there specially since my son was born, but I will never quit! It is a pleasure to be able to enjoy a book and get new stories that can even get to change your way of thinking on certain things in life.
As one of my great hobbies, I leave you guys tonight to finish one of the last books of the "True Blood" saga, which is new to me, since I have never read anything similar, but I am enjoying it just as any of my other past books... Good Night and Good Reading!

Day 8

Today was a crafty day, and we enjoyed some play-doh time, drawing, and even coloring. And so here is proof of how well he does at coloring, hehehe. He will get better with age I hope, lol, but for now I think he is doing great! 

And on the 7th day...

One of the things I wanted to do this year was to start using my crock pot more often.... My dad got it for me back in 2006, and I can count with both my hands the amount of times that I have used it...
I come from Spain, and I don't remember my family using anything like it there when they cooked, so although I wanted one, I didn't really know what to use it for, so within the last almost 7 years, I may have try a recipe per year, hehehe. Or maybe twice in one year and then skipped one to make it even LOL
So, as something I wanted to start taking advantage of, now that I have a little one around that demands my attention 24/7, so far, in the last 7 days of this new year, I have used it TWICE!!! Yes, you read right!! And let me tell you, so far, so good!!! I make some drumsticks yesterday that were delicious!! And my lasagna today was even better!!!
So, today's picture is lasagna's ingredients!! I was going to take a picture of the lasagna once it was done, but I ended up forgetting so the ingredients have to be enough. LOL!!

Day 6

To me, there are things in life that need organization and scheduling and so, when it comes to my home's chores, shopping, cooking, and so on, I like to have a guidance that helps me keep up with all of what I need to get done throughout the day. A weekly organizer is something that I have had in mind for quite a while, but I didn't seem to be able to put it into paper and get it going for us.
But, as most of you may already know, Pinterest is just simply awesome, and has anything and everything that you may be looking for, so I went onto Pinterest's website and typed what I was looking for, and bingo!!! There it was!! A cute, simple, yet great weekly organizer!
This is going to be my first week doing this, so I will be letting you guys know how this works, but I think this is just what I needed.
My head is all over the place sometimes, and I seem to forget the most simple things in life as it can be where I left my keys, or whether I turned on the washer when I already put the clothes and detergent on it, and thats why I like organization, because it makes my life much easier and simple!! Friends and family make fun of me sometimes, because of how picky I am, or some even call me OCD girl when it comes to my house and how I handle the cleaning and organize my things.
I don't know if it is actually diagnosed as OCD, or just me being a pain in the butt, lol, but hey, it works for me!! hehehe
And so, my picture for today is of the awesome organizer I came across and that I will start using as of today... Enjoy!

Day 5

Phew!! It's almost midnight here and I just finished up all the little things I had plan for the day!! Crazy isnt it?!? I accomplished more than I had expected thanks to my husband for taking our son to the park for a while and letting me concentrate on some very much needed de-clutter in my office...
But after all of that hard work, I didn't seem to have enough and so I decided to also rearrange all the pictures I have been transferring to my iPhoto for months now, and just putting it aside for later, and I finally had the patients to do so.
I feel good now! There is nothing like a feeling of accomplishment after doing something that you know has been put on for quite a while, is there?!?
But, after all of that hard work, or should I better say in between, since I took a break to cook and eat dinner with both my little and grown man. And since I didn't think of anything that would look good for my 5th day picture, I just took one of our food... I know it looks horrible, but at least I got the picture, which is what really counts after all, isn't it?!?
So here it is my picture for today, I very much enjoyed what's in it. :)

Fourth Day is Here!!

Another crazy day at The Miles but we got thru it! lol My little one wasn't feeling too good today and since my headache didn't go away either I thought it was a stay at home kinda day AGAIN (ugh!!), but that doesn't mean we didn't have fun... We always enjoy each other even if we don't go for a walk or to the park that day... 

But, my little one scared me early in the morning!! I put him on his playpen so that I would be able to go get the bed done and wash up before dedicating myself entirely to him until his nap time, and two minutes after I walked out of the living room to get to my room, I hear him cry! He never cries!! And yes, you may think I am crazy or something to say that, but it is the truth. I have been very lucky, to be my first one and have such a wonderful, easy going baby, it must be a bless, because I hear people complaining of kids who don't stop crying all day. Not mine! :)

So anyways, I rushed back into the living room and I just couldn't believe what I saw!! He was not on the playpen, he got out of it and fell trying to climb it! I thought that playpen game was going to help me out for a few more months before I had to give it up and clean around him while he runs and throws things all around!! hehehe. I guess I was wrong, wasn't I?!? 

He is ok, he only got a bit of a scratch on his nose, thank goodness!! But now he is climbing couches like no other, and my stress level is going to the skies just thinking he is going to hurt himself... And I know this is part of being a kid and all mom's go thru it, but how?!? How do you guys deal with it and make it a bit easier on yourselves?!? I need some advice because I am going to start bitting my nails or pulling my hair out being this scared... LOL

Well, while I wait for some advice I will leave you with a picture for the day, which i took while he was enjoying his lunch... I gotta say, that I don't usually let him get this messy, I more of a "Let me feed you" kind of mom with this kind of foods, but I thought it would be fun for him, and this way I would try and get my picture of the day, which worked! :)

Day Three...

Not much to say today, as my day has been a little hard to handle... I've had this big headache all day, but what could I do with a little one ready for a whole day of playtime and exercise?!? 

I can usually count on my husband on a day like this, but with him on duty today, I had no choice but to try to make the best of my day and my headache for my son.

We didn't go anywhere since I wasn't feeling that good, but we had plenty of action going on in the house... He helped me by being patient while I took care of some things around the house, and then we played with his cars, played piano on my iPad, watched some tv for a little bit, used some of his flash cards for a while, and we read some books... 

I took random pictures of all of this and some of him as we ate lunch and dinner, and after looking at all 120 pictures, I chose this one... I hope you guys like it as much as I do.

Now I am going to let you guys go and try to rest and hope that this headache is gone by the morning. You guys have a great night and I will be back tomorrow. :)

Day Two and counting....

As my day seemed to slip away today, I started getting a bit stressed out because it didn't look as if I had anything to photograph. I spent most of my day cleaning and picking up after my little one. And then I had to leave for a few hours to go to an appointment and do some groceries, so I didn't think taking my camera would be a good idea...

I got home almost at dinner time, so you can imagine how stressed that was, trying to put dinner together at the last minute and getting thru putting all the groceries away in between... And then night routine started with my little boy... Give him a bath, play for a few more minutes before heading to the bedroom where we read a book or two, and then to the crib I put him to fall asleep with the sounds of his music box and the images it shows on the roof of jungle animals...

But, when I walked out of his room, I saw my other babies sitting there, screaming for a snapshot (maybe not screaming, but they looked like there were posing for me), so I grabbed my camera, and hurried to take a pic or two, only to find out my batteries were about to die and the camera wasn't letting me take any pictures until I charged it!! There went my luck!! LOL

When I talk about my other babies I am actually talking about my two awesome dogs by the way!! We have a female German Shepherd named Quin who I love unconditionally but sometimes drives me crazy, and one of the most amazing Golden Retrievers I have even had the pleasure to meet!! His name is Pluto, and before my son Keoni came to the world, I think you can already tell that he was my little prince charming... Of course, that position was taken by Keoni the minute I found out I was pregnant with a boy, but Pluto still gets to be my "other" prince, hehehe!! 

We also have a cutie cat names Nora, and she is amazing too but lazy as it can be... I guess thats what most cats do, just lay around and get your attention when they need something from you, lol.

Anyhow, I charged my camera's battery for a few minutes and still got to get a good picture of my dogs, so I thought I would do pet picture today... I didn't photographed today, but I am sure she will on some of my pictures for this project...

Day 1 here we go!!

Well, today is the first day of my Project 365, and here I am... Excited but also scared... I gotta say, I have been researching and looking at other people like me doing this project, and now I am feeling a little intimidated!!
I'm still trying to figure out how to work many of the options and settings that you can set for the blog, since I have never worked a blog before and I just started this one yesterday...
I got my camera on Christmas this year, and so as you can imagine, I have only been using it on Automatic!! Well, I also tried the preset modes, but I am nowhere near starting to use my manual modes at all, and my pictures aren't the greatest, but one of the reasons of me doing this project is so that I can get better at photographing with my DSLR and also to prove myself that I can stick to something of my choice for longer than two weeks!! lol
So today, being the first day of the project I was very indecisive of what my picture should be of, and I just decided to take random pictures at home and then some more while we took our son to the park... I gotta admit, there are a few that I would love to post in here, but decided this one of my son and husband was very touching and so I went with it. I took this one while at one of the parks here in San Diego.
